One of the best Westcoast jazz pop-rock albums I've heard in a long time. The production is amazing for an independent release, the hooks are interesting, the lyrics clever in a Steely Dan-ish way and the little things (like the Motown-sounding lick on Soothe A Savage Soul and the Thomas Dolby styled synth washes on Before He Finds Out) really elevate this album into special territory. Early AOTY potential!

This album is State Cows coming back to form after their last album was a disappointment. The only caveat on this album is a lack of a ballad, such as California Gold.
